Be Sure You'll LIKE Leading, Before Becoming A Leader!

From time, to time, many individuals consider, striving to become a leader, of some organization/ group, or another! Some of these people, are fit, for the position, while others are, not ready for prime time! While there are many factors to consider, and examine, it's essential to never overlook, whether one, will truly, enjoy, and LIKE, leading! Will doing so be enjoyable, and worthwhile for them, or will they end up, regretting the day, they decided to be a leader? Will they perceive, the obstacles of leadership, to be, merely, anticipated challenges, to overcome, or, problems? With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it's such an important consideration.
1. Listen; learn; lessons; leadership: Great leaders discipline themselves, so they prioritize, effectively listening, and learning, from every conversation, and experience! This process must direct them, to take advantage of every lesson, from the past, so they use the most effective steps, towards meaningful, effective leadership!
2. Ideas; imagination; integrity; ideology; issues: How can anyone, lead effectively, unless/ until, he is thoroughly aware of the relevant issues, and prepared, to proceed, effectively? One should only be called, a leader, when/ if, he maintains the utmost degree of genuine integrity, even when taking a path of lesser resistance, may be, far more convenient! He must have a well - developed, imagination, so he considers viable options and alternatives, with an open - mind. This must bring forth, the quality ideas, which align with the ideology of the organization, in a relevant, sustainable manner!
3. Knowledge; know; keep it up: When one proceeds, with the steps, listed above, he develops the essential knowledge, to know, his options, and, hopeful, maximize his potential, to make the wisest decisions! However, success demands, consistent, persistent, efforts, so one might keep it up, and proceed, towards a viable action plan, based on well - considered, strategic planning!
4. Emphasis; empathy; energy/ energize; excellence; endurance: It's often important, to place one's emphasis, where it will do the most good! This requires proceeding with the utmost degree of genuine empathy, in order to energize his group and constituents. When others witness a leader, with focus and energy, he optimizes his potential to energize those around him, and proceed, with the most desirable degree of genuine excellence! How one behaves and serves others, is often dependent upon, the endurance to persist and persevere, in a focused manner!
